Are you right for Sammy?

Say hello to Sammy, the German Shepherd cross looking for his fur-ever home! This giant fluffy ball of love is looking for a fun-loving home that wants to take him on nice walks and teach him some basics. Adopters who take on this affectionate lad will need to be committed to regularly brushing him and be prepared for visits to the groomers to keep his coat in good condition. Sammy can live with children aged 10 and over who don’t mind a clumsy big leggy boy! He does like his own space and would like to live as the only dog in the home; however, he is happy to share a walk with another dog. Like many German Shepherds, Sammy loves to learn, engaging well in training for a tasty treat, which you can use to your advantage to help train and build a bond with him. Whilst at the centre he has shown himself to be a whizz at a sit and knows his name, but his new family would benefit from continuing his training. He walks well on lead but can pull a little to say hello or to get to a good sniff spot! Sammy may be able to be left alone for up to 2-4 hours once settled in, but this should be introduced slowly once he has had time to get used to his new home and routine and would ideally be after a walk, so he can relax and have a long snooze! Sammy has been toilet trained in the past and has been trying to continue this whilst he has been staying with us but unfortunately hasn’t always managed, so would need a refresher in his new home. He would need to have a private garden to allow her to go to the toilet when needed. Sammy will need to meet his adopters multiple times prior to going home so please bear this in mind when applying. Please note that should you be shortlisted, our rehoming process usually takes up to 7 days, and potential adopters would be required to come up to the centre to meet him within 48hrs of being shortlisted.

Is Sammy right for you?

Are you looking for brains, fluff and a heart of gold? Then say hello to our German Shepherd cross Sammy! This 2-year-old lad likes to be your shadow and always be near you, he would love to accompany you on gentle strolls in new areas to sniff and explore. If you don’t mind a fluffy giant boy bouncing around your home, then please consider welcoming Sammy into your lives.
