How do I renew?
You will either be emailed with a link to renew your subscription or you will receive a renewal reminder by post.
If you receive an email and renew online through your renewal link, you’ll get an email which can be used immediately as proof of insurance once your payment is processed.
If you receive a letter in the post, this will outline the ways you can renew including send back a postal renewal form. Once you have sent in your postal renewal form, we will send you a proof of liability insurance in the post.
Please note - Due to limited resources, we kindly ask you do not call us to renew your subscription, or check if we have received your postal renewal. If you do call us, we cannot process renewals more than 30 days before your subscription expires.
If you pay for your Companion Club subscriptions by direct debit, you will automatically renew unless you instruct otherwise, and will not receive a renewal reminder. You will receive a reminder for all other payment methods. See the question below for how to get a new proof of insurance if you pay by direct debit.
Is this process the same for exempted dogs?
The process for renewing your Companion Club subscription is exactly the same if you have an exempted dog.
You'll automatically receive a renewal reminder before your Companion Club subscription runs out, which will outline the ways you can renew.
You'll then receive a confirmation letter confirming your renewal once we've processed the payment.
What if I haven’t received a renewal reminder?
Your renewal reminder will be automatically generated approximately 4 weeks before your renewal date. If you are less than two weeks from your renewal date and you have not yet received a renewal reminder, you can renew through this link.
Please make sure to use the same name and address as your previous subscription so that we can match your renewal to your record.
Unfortunately, if we don't have an up to date postal or email address for you, we cannot guarantee that you will receive a renewal reminder.
I still have the insurance benefit - how do I get a new proof of insurance?
You'll automatically receive a confirmation letter or email confirming your renewal once we've processed the payment.
As our third party public liability insurance extends to cover you as a private individual and any dogs who are your pets, we do not need the name or age of your dog for them to be covered. If you have paid before 30th June 2026, your renewal confirmation letter confirms that you are covered through our third party public liability insurance, and the policy number and policy start date.
Can I get a confirmation email?
Anybody renewing through their email renewal reminder link will receive an email confirmation. If you are sent your renewal reminder by post, you will receive confirmation by post and may receive an email confirmation if we have an up to date email at the time of renewal.
If you'd prefer to renew your subscription by email going forwards, please add your email address to the personal details section on your renewals form. You’ll only receive administrative emails unless you also opt into marketing, and you’ll benefit from receiving immediate confirmation of your subscription renewal.
How long will it take to renew?
- Online - If renewing by email through the link we provide, your renewal is immediate upon payment.
- Post - Due to high demand, this process can take 3-4 weeks for you to receive your renewal confirmation letter by post. Therefore, we recommend you renew as soon as you receive your reminder letter to ensure you have continuous insurance cover. We really appreciate your patience during this time. We will be working tirelessly to process your kind renewals as swiftly as possible!
I pay by direct debit, how do I get a renewed proof of insurance?
If you have a direct debit set up for your Companion Club subscription your payment will be taken automatically on your renewal date. If you require proof of insurance for exemption purposes, please email us. Please note we cannot issue any proof until your payment is received, so please only send this request after your payment is clear.
Why do you now need information about my dog?
We are now collecting information about how many dogs you own and if any have an exemption certificate to help with the ongoing running of the benefits that we offer through Companion Club. This information will help us continue to offer the best benefits for you and your dog(s).
What are you going to do with this information?
This information is for our internal running of the benefits we offer through Companion Club, and as such it will only be used to tailor your experience. We won't share this information anywhere.
Do I need to give you my birth date?
We need to know your month and year of birth to verify your Companion Club subscription type.
Do I need to give you my dog's name/ age?
We do not need the name or age of your dog for them to be covered. We just need to know how many dogs you have, and how many (if any) have exemption certificates.
What happens if I don’t give you this information?
You will not be able to renew online without providing this information. We will require this information from all renewals by the next time you renew and if you don't provide this information by then, your Companion Club subscription may no longer be valid.
