Are you right for Stanley?

Stanley is a charming 4-year-old Patterdale Terrier who is searching for a home where he can stay with his best pal, Albert. These two have a lovely bond and are happiest when they are together, so they are looking for adopters who are ready to welcome a dynamic duo into their lives. Stanley is a friendly boy who can live with children of any age, making him a great fit for a variety of family set-ups. He must be kept on lead when out and about due to a high chase drive, and although he walks nicely on lead, his recall is not fully reliable just yet. He will need to be the only dog in the home (aside from Albert of course), as the pair have a very close relationship. Stanley and Albert really do lean on each other for confidence and companionship, so keeping them together is the ideal scenario. Stanley will also need a cat-free home, as he is not a fan of felines.

Is Stanley right for you?

If you are looking for an affectionate companion (or two!) who enjoys a cuddle and has a lovely nature, Stanley might just be your match. He is great in the car — happy to hop into the boot or backseat without hesitation — and has travelled quietly and calmly both in kennels and in his previous home. He is content being left for short periods once settled, especially if Albert is by his side. At the centre, Stanley has shown himself to be easy-going with handling, happy to have a harness popped on, and enjoys being brushed. He was even fine with baths in his previous home! Stanley has a basic level of obedience and thrives with a mix of medium exercise and some mental stimulation to keep his clever terrier brain engaged. He is not fussed by traffic and, although he toilets in his kennel here, he was mostly clean in his previous home. He is not currently showing much interest in toys at the centre, but we are told he enjoyed them at home, and he may well rediscover that joy once he is settled again. Above all else, Stanley is a gentle, affectionate dog who loves food and fuss, and who is happiest when his best friend Albert is nearby. If you have room in your heart — and on your sofa — for two, Stanley and Albert could be the perfect pair to complete your family.
