Are you right for Albert?

Albert is a lovable 4-year-old Patterdale Terrier who is looking for a forever home alongside his best buddy, Stanley. These two are thick as thieves and have a wonderfully close bond, so they are looking to stay together in their new home. Friendly and affectionate, Albert can live with children of any age and would love a family who can offer him both companionship and some gentle structure. Like Stanley, Albert must be kept on lead when out in public due to his strong chase drive. Albert is working on building his confidence with other dogs and can have griends on walks but not in the home at this stage (other than Stanley of course). He is also looking for a cat-free home. Stanley and Albert really do lean on each other for confidence and companionship, so keeping them together is the ideal scenario.

Is Albert right for you?

If you are looking for a cheerful companion with a sweet, gentle nature and a love of company, Albert could be your perfect match. Once he is settled into a routine, he is happy to be left for short periods — especially if Stanley is by his side. Albert is good with handling, now comfortable wearing his harness, and has tolerated baths and brushing both at the centre and in his previous home. He can be a little unsure at first with new situations, like the vet or a collar change, but he comes around quickly with patient reassurance. He enjoys a bit of training and knows how to sit, and he thrives on medium daily exercise alongside some mental enrichment. Though he is not hugely toy-focused at the centre, he did enjoy toys in his previous home and may well rediscover that joy again in the right environment. Albert can be a little fussy with treats, but when he finds one he likes, he is keen to earn it. This sweet boy travelled well in his previous home and will happily jump into the car — sometimes with a quick pause if something looks unfamiliar, but he gets there! He has shown no concerns around traffic and was mostly housetrained before coming into kennels. Albert is a gentle soul who adores fuss and being with his people. He and Stanley make a brilliant duo — affectionate, playful, and full of character. If you think your home has room for two terriers with big hearts and even bigger personalities, we would love to hear from you.
