Are you right for Sparky?

Sparky is a gentle lad who forms strong bonds with his people and adores a good fuss once he gets to know you. He would love a quiet home where he and Casper can enjoy life together without the company of other pets, as his buddy Casper prefers to be the only dog in the home, unless with Sparky of course. Sparky has previously lived in a home and could live with children aged 10 and above, as long as they are calm and respectful around dogs. Sparky has come out of his shell beautifully and greets staff happily, seeking out attention and affection. He enjoys exploring new environments and is always up for a gentle stroll, taking everything in with curiosity. He travels well in the car – he may need a little help getting in the boot, but he is confident jumping into the back seat and settles well once inside.

Is Sparky right for you?

Sparky’s ideal home would be one that offers plenty of human company, lots of gentle encouragement, and the space and time to help him continue building confidence – particularly around harness use and vet visits. He will need to be muzzled for vet handling, and is already progressing with his training towards it. He is also doing well with his own familiar harness and will benefit from slow, patient handling when getting ready for walkies. He enjoys treats and takes them gently, which will help with ongoing training. Sparky is not currently showing interest in toys here at the centre, but his main love is being close to his people – enjoying calm fuss and cuddles. He is happy to be left for short periods once settled, but any time alone should be built up gradually to help him feel secure. Sparky is not housetrained in kennels, though he was reportedly clean in the home. With routine and understanding, he should soon settle back into good habits. He would also love a garden of his own where he and Casper can potter, relax and enjoy time together. If you are looking for a pair of sweet, loving companions with plenty of affection to give, Sparky and Casper could be the perfect match for your home and heart.
