After two years, patient Wilf finds his forever home

One of our longest-term residents can finally put his paws in his forever home.

Dogs Trust staff send off Wilf the Crossbreed to his forever home
14th September 2023

Wilf arrived with us in 2021 when he was about one year old. After quickly catching the eye of adopters, he sadly came back into our care due to some behaviours, such as mouthing. He also didn’t like to be left alone and also had some medical needs.

After getting him settled onto a hypoallergenic diet, our training team got to work on a programme to help him with some of his behaviours that would make a transition to a forever home much easier. Once he was smashing his behaviour goals, he met Andrew!

After his application, Andrew came to visit Wilf multiple times so they could get to know each other. Wilf also spent time in his new home, with one of our training team, so he and Andrew could continue his training in his home environment. We knew straight away that Andrew was the adopter Wilf had waited so long to meet. We can’t wait to hear how Wilf gets on in his new home!
