Three-legged Paxo has found his forever home after waiting for over three years for someone to fall in love with him.

The five-year old Lurcher originally came to us when he was found as a stray. He arrived with a deformity on his right leg which was causing him pain, so the expert vet team made the decision to amputate his leg to make him comfortable. Paxo adapted very well to life on three legs.

Paxo's patience was rewarded and the tri-pawd pooch found his special someone when Jane Wardle and Jeremy Tandy from Exeter, who say they can't imagine life without him!

We can’t imagine life without Paxo now! We spent about a month getting to know him at the centre which allowed us both time to figure out if we were right for each other...his behaviour team gave us several one-to-one sessions to help us get to understand how to work with him with some of his needs. These were really useful, and it was also reassuring to know that they’re always just a call away for the rest of Paxo’s life, in case we ever need them.

Paxo is one of 25 lucky dogs of all ages, shapes and sizes at Dogs Trust Ilfracombe who have already found loving homes this year.
