Are you right for Rosey?

Rosey is a sweet seven-year-old, with a gentle nature. She arrived in our care through no fault of her own and has since been diagnosed with ‘Cushing’s Disease’. We placed into a foster home to help her feel more comfortable and to provide her with the TLC needed, and Rosey has proven to be a polite, friendly, and easy-going houseguest. Due to her age and medical condition, a calm home without young children would be best suited to her. However, she is polite around children and would be fine meeting them when out and about or during visits. Rosey greets new dogs politely and socialises well, though she is less comfortable around large or overly boisterous dogs, which is understandable. She can happily live as an only dog or with another dog of a similar age and temperament, pending introductions at the centre. However, she has been known to be wary of cats, and therefore is unsuitable to live with them. Rosey’s potential adopters should note that she might have the occasional accident in her new home due to her Cushing’s condition, as well as the change in her environment. A garden of her own is essential, so that she can be let out frequently, particularly in the initial weeks of settling in. Rosey is generally a sleepy pooch and has been known to settle well if her humans are needing to leave her alone for a few hours. However, as usual, this is something that should be built up gradually and only once she is fully settled into her new routine.

Is Rosey right for you?

Rosey has shown herself to be an affectionate and cuddly lady, who enjoys lapping up the attention from her favourite people. As well as fusses and being doted over, Rosey’s most loved pastimes include taking a leisurely stroll in a peaceful setting, gobbling up a tasty meal or indulging in tasty snacks (she is particularly fond of chews and fish flavoured treats) and curling up on her bed for a good snooze! Rosey is hard of hearing, so doesn’t always respond to verbal cues.
