Toby is the sweetest dog who enjoys a gentle fuss and snuggling up on his sofa. What he enjoys more, is running around after his toys and generally being downright silly! He can be quite strong when he's on his lead, and he's an active lad who loves being outdoors and will happily walk for hours, exploring everywhere. Toby is a clever lad who picks things up very quickly, and can be outrageously affectionate at times.

Type of home needed

Toby does get along with other dogs, but can be selective so it's always best to introduce him slowly to any potential walking buddies. His preference is leggy dogs like himself, although he will need to be the only pet in the home. Toby has a very giddy and silly side - if he gets overstimulated he goes off like a mad thing, so it's preferable that he has calm fun unless he's got the room! He's housetrained and most suited to living in a home without children, having had a poor experience with them. He will need quite a few visits at the centre to get to know him before he goes home, so he can build that trust and strong bond with you. He adores people and really enjoys human company. He would appreciate being allowed to run off lead somewhere, such as a secure hired field. Toby has spent a few days at a time at a volunteer's house, where he has been perfectly behaved.

More about me

Toby is 8 and has a little bit of arthritis so will need ongoing pain relief, please feel free to contact us if you need more information.
