Covid-19 update: our rehoming centres aren’t open for public browsing, but we’re still rehoming and taking in dogs, with measures in place to keep staff and adopters safe. Find out more about how national Covid-19 restrictions are affecting our rehoming procedures and other activity.

Our rehoming centres aren’t open for public browsing but we’re still rehoming and taking in dogs, with new processes in place to keep staff, visitors and adopters safe.

For dogs we know will thrive straight away in their new home, we’re matching them with their new homes virtually and delivering them contact-free. Current restrictions mean we can only facilitate adoptions local to our centres and not across Countries or anywhere there are travel restrictions. We’re not able to make appointments for dogs to meet their family before going home, but we can register interest to arrange appointments when restrictions ease.

We’re currently experiencing an unprecedented amount of interest, with some dogs getting several hundred applications. Please bear with us, we’re doing everything we can to find our dogs their forever homes.

It tends to be love at first sight for most people when they are lucky enough to meet little Kalvin! This scumptious 2 year old Patterdale JRT cross is looking for a new home with his little sister Bonnie. He adores toys and loves to carry his teddies around with him on his walks, and relishes being made a fuss of. He's also quite a smart cookie who knows sit, down, paw and rollover!

Type of home needed

Kalvin and Bonnie can live with children of secondary school age, and they do get along with other dogs although Kalvin prefers smaller ones, Bonnie aside. Both are house trained but not really used to spending much time on their own.

More about me

If you would like to adopt Kalvin and Bonnie, please click "Come And Meet Me" below. We are confident that they will settle straight in with their new family, so once we've found them the perfect match we will be able to take them home, contact free. We have social distancing measures in place to keep our staff and adopters safe.

In these unprecedented circumstances, we're doing everything we can to continue our vital work caring for thousands of stray and abandoned dogs. If you'd like to help, please make a donation. Your support means so much, now more than ever.

How rehoming works

Thank you for your interest in Kalvin, who is based at Merseyside (Liverpool). Please note this is not a reservation on this dog. If you think you could be a good match give us a call on the number below

Our rehoming process is a bit different at the moment! We’re now matching dogs with their new families virtually and delivering dogs to their new homes, with social distancing measures in place to help keep staff and adopters safe. For dogs who need more time to get to know their new family, you can come and meet them at our rehoming centres by appointment. More info about how our new rehoming process works below.

When you rehome a dog, we’ll give you your welcome bag, which includes a new collar and lead, and our dog care handbook with microchip and insurance details. Plus, to help your new addition settle in we’ll give you a 2kg bag of Wainwright’s dry dog food, courtesy of the Pets at Home VIP Club, unless they have been fed on a different food for dietary or veterinary reasons.
