Poor Max is a real golden oldie at 17, but he's settled into life at the centre quite well, given as he mostly snoozes! Sadly his owner was too poorly to take care of him any longer, so he's looking for a new retirement home to live out his days in comfort. Max still enjoys going out for a gentle potter, but doesn't want to take his little legs too far anymore. He quite likes a gentle fuss, but prefers this on his own terms in between naps!
Type of home needed
Max does have some kidney probems which is no surprise given his age. Any treatment that he may need will be paid for by Dogs Trust under our shared adoption scheme. He will walk with quiet dogs, but we'd advise that he's probably best as the only dog in the home, as he's so elderly and losing his sight too. Max would also prefer a home any children are aged 12 and over, and will understand his need to be left in peace.
