Covid-19 update: our rehoming centres aren’t open for public browsing, but we’re still rehoming and taking in dogs, with measures in place to keep staff and adopters safe. Find out more about how national Covid-19 restrictions are affecting our rehoming procedures and other activity.

Our rehoming centres aren’t open for public browsing but we’re still rehoming and taking in dogs, with new processes in place to keep staff, visitors and adopters safe.

For dogs we know will thrive straight away in their new home, we’re matching them with their new homes virtually and delivering them contact-free. Current restrictions mean we can only facilitate adoptions local to our centres and not across Countries or anywhere there are travel restrictions. We’re not able to make appointments for dogs to meet their family before going home, but we can register interest to arrange appointments when restrictions ease.

We’re currently experiencing an unprecedented amount of interest, with some dogs getting several hundred applications. Please bear with us, we’re doing everything we can to find our dogs their forever homes.

Buster is still an active chap at 10 years old and loves his walks, playing games and doing training. Although he can be a little unsure around new people at first, given time, he comes out of his shell and is lovely boy who enjoys human company. Once he knows you, he'll wander over to you for fuss and might even nudge you for more. A great way to build a bond with Buster is doing training with him, as he is a bright spark who enjoys learning in exchange for yummy treats! He already knows a lovely 'sit' and is learning to focus on his human around distractions. Buster has made great bonds with his Canine Carers and has the potential to be a great companion in the home.

Type of home needed

Lovely Buster hasn't had the easiest time in life so far, so he's hoping to find patient, understanding adopters who will help him to settle in and adjust to home life. He will need his adopters to be with him for most of the time initially, but once he is settled and happy, he can gradually be left for short periods. Buster is looking for an adult-only home where he is the only pet, so he can be the centre of attention! His perfect home would be in a quiet area with access to walks away from lots of other dogs, so he can enjoy the outdoors and spend quality time with his adopter. Buster can't wait to have a garden of his own, where he can play and explore to his heart's content. Buster is a lovely boy who needs adopters to take things slow and steady.

More about me

Due to current restrictions, I can't go to my forever home just yet, but you can contact the rehoming centre to register your interest. When restrictions ease, and if we're a suitable match, you will be able to discuss me in more detail with my carers at the centre. Thank you so much for your interest in me!

In these unprecedented circumstances, we're doing everything we can to continue our vital work caring for thousands of stray and abandoned dogs. If you'd like to help, please make a donation. Your support means so much, now more than ever.

How rehoming works

Thank you for your interest in Buster, who is based at Snetterton (Norfolk). Please note this is not a reservation on this dog. If you think you could be a good match give us a call on the number below

Our rehoming process is a bit different at the moment! We’re now matching dogs with their new families virtually and delivering dogs to their new homes, with social distancing measures in place to help keep staff and adopters safe. For dogs who need more time to get to know their new family, you can come and meet them at our rehoming centres by appointment. More info about how our new rehoming process works below.

When you rehome a dog, we’ll give you your welcome bag, which includes a new collar and lead, and our dog care handbook with microchip and insurance details. Plus, to help your new addition settle in we’ll give you a 2kg bag of Wainwright’s dry dog food, courtesy of the Pets at Home VIP Club, unless they have been fed on a different food for dietary or veterinary reasons.
