About Sooty

8 and over

Sooty is a spritely older chap with a lot of heart that has plenty of love to give! He loves to be around people, but prefers gentle fuss over cuddles. He even sometimes prefers to be near you and in your company, without needing attention. Sooty sometimes gets excitable when he begins his walk, but will soon calm down and take his time to enjoy all the new smells. He will leap int a car for a journey out for an adventure. He generally gets on with other calmer dogs and will often just greet them or ignore them on a walk. Sooty loves to play with his toys but doesn't always like to give them back, so it is best to leave him to play alone with them.

Type of home needed

Sooty is looking for a loving home with experienced dog owners, who may have worked with dogs who have guarding issues and know their body language. He would need an adult only home and to be the only dog in the home too. Sooty does need to wear a muzzle for his vet visits as he is not much of a fan with handling. Sooty would make a great companion in a home that is willing to give him the love he deserves!

Thank you for your interest in rehoming a dog from our Shrewsbury Rehoming Centre in Shropshire.

The first step to rehoming from us is to complete our online application form. We’ll review your application and if we think you could be a good match for the dog, we’ll give you a call to chat in more detail.

When reviewing applications, we're looking at how closely your lifestyle matches the needs of the dog. If we have lots of strong matches, then we'll start with the family that applied first.

We may arrange a virtual home check to find out more about you, your lifestyle, and the home you can offer. We may also make an appointment for you to come and meet a dog at the centre.
