To apply to rehome me please click on the 'Come and meet me' button below. Applications will close when we have found a suitable match. Wilbur is the epitome of a gun dog, curiosity along with following his impressive nose is what he loves. His most treasured thing to find is his trusty tennis ball and flourishes in searching for one during our 'find it' games. We know from previous homes; Wilbur isn't fond of loud noises which take him by surprise, he would suit an adult only home with no visiting children.
Type of home needed
Wilbur will need to be the only pet in the home. His new owners must be comfortable taking on a rescue dog that has shown resource guarding in the past. He may be around 11 years old but he is still a very active dog. Ideally Wilbur needs to sleep downstairs in his own area at night as he likes his peace and quiet in his own space.
More about me
Wilbur is a large Pointer cross. We are very pleased that Wilbur is doing well with his training and socialization and now ready to find his new home. Potential adopters will be required to have several meetings with our behaviourist and must live no more than one hour from the rehoming centre.
During these uncertain times, whilst we have had to unfortunately close our
rehoming centres to the public, we’d like to reassure you that our wonderful
staff will continue to provide the best possible care for our dogs. We are now
able to start the search for new homes for a small number of our awesome dogs.
This will really help us to support even more dogs who are most at risk of
being put to sleep as a result of this crisis. We have been overwhelmed by
your offers of support, and we wouldn’t be able to do any of this without
your help. We’d like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to
those individuals, who are doing everything they can to make sure our dogs
get fed, walked, looked after and, as soon as we are able, finding them
their forever home. We appreciate you thinking of us at what is a difficult
time for all. If you would like to make a donation to support whilst we continue
looking after the dogs in our care you can do so here...
