Covid-19 update: Our rehoming centres aren’t open for public browsing but we’re still rehoming and taking in dogs, with social distancing measures in place to keep our staff and adopters safe.

Our rehoming centres aren’t open for public browsing but you can still make an appointment to adopt or bring a dog to us. We’ve set up new processes to keep staff, visitors and adopters safe, including matching dogs with their new homes virtually and delivering dogs contact-free.

Local restrictions may affect our rehoming procedures, so please check the rules for your area: we’re not able to facilitate appointments or adoptions across different tiers, or anywhere there are travel restrictions.

We’re currently experiencing an unprecedented amount of interest, with some dogs getting several hundred applications. Please bear with us, we’re doing everything we can to find our dogs their forever homes.

Harhoos loves nothing more than snuggling up on his duvet and snoozing the day away. He is also very foody. He enjoys puzzle food toys and kongs.

Type of home needed

Harhoos is a beautiful older chap. Being a slightly older boy he cannot walk very far and is quite slow on his legs, but he does still love his walks with you and having a potter around. He will not need need long walks in a home just some fresh air and a potter. He would be quite happy just to have a garden to potter around. Harhoos has also shown to like the car, so he should be fine going away on days out. He can be a little reactive to dogs at times, usually when he's having his chilled garden time and they disturb him. He has been very good at being handled and brilliant in the vets. He will just need gentle handling due to being older. Harhoos would prefer a quieter home with no children, where he can have his own space to relax.

How rehoming works

Thank you for your interest in Harhoos, who is based at Shrewsbury (Shropshire). Please note this is not a reservation on this dog. If you think you could be a good match give us a call on the number below

Our rehoming process is a bit different at the moment! We’re now matching dogs with their new families virtually and delivering dogs to their new homes, with social distancing measures in place to help keep staff and adopters safe. For dogs who need more time to get to know their new family, you can come and meet them at our rehoming centres by appointment. More info about how our new rehoming process works below.

When you rehome a dog, we’ll give you your welcome bag, which includes a new collar and lead, and our dog care handbook with microchip and insurance details. Plus, to help your new addition settle in we’ll give you a 2kg bag of Wainwright’s dry dog food, courtesy of the Pets at Home VIP Club, unless they have been fed on a different food for dietary or veterinary reasons.
