Covid-19 update: our rehoming centres aren’t open for public browsing, but we’re still rehoming and taking in dogs, with measures in place to keep staff and adopters safe. Find out more about how national Covid-19 restrictions are affecting our rehoming procedures and other activity.

Our rehoming centres aren’t open for public browsing but we’re still rehoming and taking in dogs, with new processes in place to keep staff, visitors and adopters safe.

For dogs we know will thrive straight away in their new home, we’re matching them with their new homes virtually and delivering them contact-free. Current restrictions mean we can only facilitate adoptions local to our centres and not across Countries or anywhere there are travel restrictions. We’re not able to make appointments for dogs to meet their family before going home, but we can register interest to arrange appointments when restrictions ease.

We’re currently experiencing an unprecedented amount of interest, with some dogs getting several hundred applications. Please bear with us, we’re doing everything we can to find our dogs their forever homes.

Misty will need some ongoing training to help her with travelling if needed, as at the moment she will get into a car with help, but it isn't something she likes a lot.

Type of home needed

Misty is a lovely girl with a bouncy temperament. She loves a good fuss, but can be a little unsure of too much handling si it has to be on her terms at her pace. Misty gets on ok with other dogs, but is very unsure of how to interact with them, because of this she will likely suit being the only dog in a home, but somewhere where she gets the chance to see and interact with other dogs to help build up her social skills. Misty can be unsure of new people at times, though will be a friend for life once she trusts you. She can get a little too attached, and doesn't like to be left alone a lot, so she would ideally be looking for a home where she will not be left for long periods.

How rehoming works

Thank you for your interest in Misty, who is based at Shrewsbury (Shropshire). Please note this is not a reservation on this dog. If you think you could be a good match give us a call on the number below

Our rehoming process is a bit different at the moment! We’re now matching dogs with their new families virtually and delivering dogs to their new homes, with social distancing measures in place to help keep staff and adopters safe. For dogs who need more time to get to know their new family, you can come and meet them at our rehoming centres by appointment. More info about how our new rehoming process works below.

When you rehome a dog, we’ll give you your welcome bag, which includes a new collar and lead, and our dog care handbook with microchip and insurance details. Plus, to help your new addition settle in we’ll give you a 2kg bag of Wainwright’s dry dog food, courtesy of the Pets at Home VIP Club, unless they have been fed on a different food for dietary or veterinary reasons.
