We’re now matching dogs with their new homes virtually and delivering dogs contact-free. For dogs who need more time to get to know their new family, you can now meet them at our rehoming centres by appointment and this now applies to all of our rehoming centres in England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales.

Nanook is a very loving lad who hasn't had the best start to life. Due to this, he hasn't learned how to play with toys so he will need some encouragment and guidence to help him with this. He loves his walks and gets excited if he knows it's time for walkies. He can be a little strong on lead at times but enjoys sniffing so this can slow him down a little bit. Nanook has learned how to sit, give paw and lie down with reward based training. Any future training will be nice and easy as he loves his food and treats. Nanook is a friendly boy and is happy to meet everyone. However, Nanook isn't too keen on other dogs. He hasn't figured out how big he is yet and is more than willing to get on your lap for a snuggle. Nanook is eager to get in the car so will enjoy going for days out to new places.

Type of home needed

Nanook is looking for a loving, understanding home who have the time and patience to help settle him into his forever home. He would like to be the only dog in the home and connot be walked with other dogs. Therefore, he would need to be walked in quiet areas where he wont see many dogs. New owners would need to be around most of the day as Nanook doesn't understand why he is being left. This could potentially be worked on with the right training. Nanook has so much love to give and will be an amazing companion for a family.

During these uncertain times, whilst we have had to unfortunately close our rehoming centres to the public, we’d like to reassure you that our wonderful staff will continue to provide the best possible care for our dogs. We are now able to start the search for new homes for a small number of our awesome dogs. This will really help us to support even more dogs who are most at risk of being put to sleep as a result of this crisis. We have been overwhelmed by your offers of support, and we wouldn’t be able to do any of this without your help. We’d like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to those individuals, who are doing everything they can to make sure our dogs get fed, walked, looked after and, as soon as we are able, finding them their forever home. We appreciate you thinking of us at what is a difficult time for all. If you would like to make a donation to support whilst we continue looking after the dogs in our care you can do so here...

How rehoming works

Thank you for your interest in Nanook, who is based at Shrewsbury (Shropshire). Please note this is not a reservation on this dog. If you think you could be a good match give us a call on the number below

Our rehoming process is a bit different at the moment! We’re now matching dogs with their new families virtually and delivering dogs to their new homes, with social distancing measures in place to help keep staff and adopters safe. For dogs who need more time to get to know their new family, you can come and meet them at our rehoming centres by appointment. We can’t register interest for dogs who aren’t available for rehoming. More info about how our new rehoming process works below.

When you rehome a dog, we’ll give you your welcome bag, which includes a new collar and lead, and our dog care handbook with microchip and insurance details. Plus, to help your new addition settle in we’ll give you a 2kg bag of Wainwright’s dry dog food, courtesy of the Pets at Home VIP Club, unless they have been fed on a different food for dietary or veterinary reasons.
