Mike is a 10 year old Staffie mix, he enjoys human company, having the occasional chest scratch and leaning against you but he also likes his own space where he can relax in. Mikes biggest love is food! Mike is still a reasonably active chap, he enjoys gentle walks with lots of sniffing opportunities as well as brain games to keep him happy.
Type of home needed
Mike will need owners who are around for the majority of the day as he does not like being left alone, he is working with our behaviour team to help him learn to settle but this will take time. Mike can also be anxious in indoor environments to begin with, so needs a quiet home with people who are willing to help gently intergrate him into a home environment, having easy access to the garden and enrichment toys.
More about me
Mike would like to be the only pet in the home. He has a few dog friends here at centre that he walks with and he can comfortably walk past other dogs on a walk, he prefers not to meet them if he doesn't know them. Mike is looking for an adult home. Please note multiple visits will be required.
During these uncertain times, whilst we have had to unfortunately close our
rehoming centres to the public, we’d like to reassure you that our wonderful
staff will continue to provide the best possible care for our dogs. We are now
able to start the search for new homes for a small number of our awesome dogs.
This will really help us to support even more dogs who are most at risk of
being put to sleep as a result of this crisis. We have been overwhelmed by
your offers of support, and we wouldn’t be able to do any of this without
your help. We’d like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to
those individuals, who are doing everything they can to make sure our dogs
get fed, walked, looked after and, as soon as we are able, finding them
their forever home. We appreciate you thinking of us at what is a difficult
time for all. If you would like to make a donation to support whilst we continue
looking after the dogs in our care you can do so here...
