Chester is a very handsome 6-year-old large spaniel crossbreed who enjoys his own company, keeping himself busy with lots of enrichment games such as Kong's, snuffle mats & scent work. He very much enjoys his walks out in the country but due to being worried by new people, these walks need to be in quiet area's where he won't meet strangers.
Type of home needed
Chester is looking for a very experienced home that have had rescue dogs in the past, this home must be STRICTLY ADULT ONLY with a maximum of 2 adults that are willing to do multiple meets with Chester until he has built a relationship and feels comfortable For this reason adopters will need to be relatively close to the centre. Chester's new owners must be prepared to take on multiple training programmes with help from our training team and continue them further in his new home, he will need a home with limited visitors and he would also benefit from having a room for himself to help him settle in away from any visitors where he can engage in enrichment without being interrupted.
More about me
Chester needs a secure private garden with a minimum of 6ft fencing so he can safely have some off-lead exercise. He could potentially be left for 2-4 hours if this is built up gradually. Chester must be the only pet in the home but can walk with doggy pals out and about. Due to the number of visits that will be needed to build a relationship with Chester we can only accept applications from people who live within an hour's drive of the centre. Please email [email protected] to request an application form for Chester.
During these uncertain times, whilst we have had to unfortunately close our
rehoming centres to the public, we’d like to reassure you that our wonderful
staff will continue to provide the best possible care for our dogs. We are now
able to start the search for new homes for a small number of our awesome dogs.
This will really help us to support even more dogs who are most at risk of
being put to sleep as a result of this crisis. We have been overwhelmed by
your offers of support, and we wouldn’t be able to do any of this without
your help. We’d like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to
those individuals, who are doing everything they can to make sure our dogs
get fed, walked, looked after and, as soon as we are able, finding them
their forever home. We appreciate you thinking of us at what is a difficult
time for all. If you would like to make a donation to support whilst we continue
looking after the dogs in our care you can do so here...
