Blues is a super 4-year-old Greyhound who cannot fail to bring a smile to your face. His antics are comedy gold. He is full of energy and looking for an active home! Blues is a lively boy who gets very excited when meeting new people and dogs, he also really enjoys going for walks and loves his zoomies! He is very affectionate and loves to sit near you to have a cuddle! His best day would include zooming around with his greyhound doggy friends followed by a snooze on the sofa!

Type of home needed

Blues ideally would have his own secure garden so he can have his own area to play in and zoom around! As Blues is an ex racing Greyhound, he may have never lived in a home before so will need all basic training. Blues is very friendly with people but can be quite bouncy so any children in the home need to be aged 11 or over. Blues enjoys meeting up with his other Greyhound friends so he could live with another dog of a similar breed. He is friendly with most dogs but can be over the top so would be better suited living with another Greyhound/Lurcher. Due to his background he may have a high prey drive so cannot live with any cats, small furries or birds. Car travel needs to be non-essential initially as racing greyhounds are not used to travelling in the car but are used to travelling in a van to the racing track.

More about me

Blues is most definitely not your typical greyhound. He is a wonderful bundle of energy and full of fun! He would make a great addition to any home who wants an active dog to take on lots of adventures! He is also a snuggle buddy so would love to spend cosy nights with you! Please note that under the coronavirus restrictions we would be doing meets with Blues at the centre following social distancing criteria.

During these uncertain times, whilst we have had to unfortunately close our rehoming centres to the public, we’d like to reassure you that our wonderful staff will continue to provide the best possible care for our dogs. We are now able to start the search for new homes for a small number of our awesome dogs. This will really help us to support even more dogs who are most at risk of being put to sleep as a result of this crisis. We have been overwhelmed by your offers of support, and we wouldn’t be able to do any of this without your help. We’d like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to those individuals, who are doing everything they can to make sure our dogs get fed, walked, looked after and, as soon as we are able, finding them their forever home. We appreciate you thinking of us at what is a difficult time for all. If you would like to make a donation to support whilst we continue looking after the dogs in our care you can do so here...

How rehoming works

Thank you for your interest in Blues, who is based at Manchester. Please note this is not a reservation on this dog. If you think you could be a good match give us a call on the number below

Our rehoming process is a bit different at the moment! We’re now matching dogs with their new families virtually and delivering dogs to their new homes, with social distancing measures in place to help keep staff and adopters safe. For dogs who need more time to get to know their new family, you can come and meet them at our rehoming centres by appointment. We can’t register interest for dogs who aren’t available for rehoming. More info about how our new rehoming process works below.

When you rehome a dog, we’ll give you your welcome bag, which includes a new collar and lead, and our dog care handbook with microchip and insurance details. Plus, to help your new addition settle in we’ll give you a 2kg bag of Wainwright’s dry dog food, courtesy of the Pets at Home VIP Club, unless they have been fed on a different food for dietary or veterinary reasons.
