I'm looking for a new home...

About Tikaani

2 to 5 Years

Tikaani has stolen the hearts of all his handlers here at the centre! He has made so much progress since arriving, and we believe he is going to make an amazing companion for someone. Being a bigger boy, Tikaani is looking for an owner who feels they are strong enough and confident enough to hold him on walks. We are working through loose lead training with Tikaani and we hope this is something a new owner would be eager to continue. Tikani struggles meeting and greeting dogs out on walks and for this reason he will need to be muzzled and kept on lead in public areas; however, he is again making progress with this and really enjoys doing muzzle training! Our trainers at Loughborough will be on hand, throughout Tikaani's life, to support adopters with his socialisation.

Type of home needed

Tikaani is 4 years old and cannot live with other pets. This gentle giant is seeking a home set in any location but he must have easy access to low dog populated walks so he can go out and enjoy himself as exploring on walks is one of Tikaani's most favourite things to do. Once settled into his new home, Tikaani would be comfortable being left home alone for up to 4 hours a day, he just needs a big duvet on the floor to spread out on! Tikaani is looking for an adult only home, who live 90 minutes from the centre and who are eager to welcome a large breed dog into their family

Thank you for your interest in rehoming a dog from our Loughborough Rehoming Centre in Leicestershire.

The first step to rehoming from us is to complete our online application form. We’ll review your application and if we think you could be a good match for the dog, we’ll give you a call to chat in more detail.

When reviewing applications, we're looking at how closely your lifestyle matches the needs of the dog. If we have lots of strong matches, then we'll start with the family that applied first.

We may arrange a virtual home check to find out more about you, your lifestyle, and the home you can offer. We may also make an appointment for you to come and meet a dog at the centre.

Start your online application now.

We aim to respond to all rehoming applications within five working days. If you have not heard from us within five working days, unfortunately you have been unsuccessful this time.
