I'm looking for a new home...

About Mel

2 to 5 Years

Mel is a very sweet, sensitive girl with a playful side. She hasn't had much experience with home living before, however is settling in great with her foster family. Mel has been housetrained in her foster home with no accidents, and will let you know she needs a toilet break by waiting at the back door!. Mel displays a lot of the behavioural traits of an ex-racing sighthound and would need to be muzzled on walks and can be worried around other dogs.Mel is happy to wear her muzzle and gets excited when she sees her muzzle and harness. She is food motivated and happy to work for some high value food during training sessions. Mel's favourite thing in life is a squeaky toy which brings out her fun, cheeky playful side and has quite the collection of toys in her foster home. Mel has a very inquisitive personality, a lot of intelligence and is a very fun character to be around and solicits fuss and reassurance from people she knows.

Type of home needed

Mel is 4 years old and can live with young adults, 15 years and over. She must be the only pet in the house. She is looking for an understanding family with a quiet home in a more rural area, close to quiet countryside walks, ideally in a cul-de-sac location away from main roads to help her gain her confidence on walks

Thank you for your interest in rehoming a dog from our Loughborough Rehoming Centre in Leicestershire.

The first step to rehoming from us is to complete our online application form. We’ll review your application and if we think you could be a good match for the dog, we’ll give you a call to chat in more detail.

When reviewing applications, we're looking at how closely your lifestyle matches the needs of the dog. If we have lots of strong matches, then we'll start with the family that applied first.

We may arrange a virtual home check to find out more about you, your lifestyle, and the home you can offer. We may also make an appointment for you to come and meet a dog at the centre.

We aim to respond to all rehoming applications within five working days. If you have not heard from us within five working days, unfortunately you have been unsuccessful this time.
