Our rehoming centres aren’t open for public browsing but we’re still rehoming and taking in dogs, with new processes in place to keep staff, visitors and adopters safe.

For dogs we know will thrive straight away in their new home, we’re matching them with their new homes virtually and delivering them contact-free. Current restrictions mean we can only facilitate adoptions local to our centres and not across Countries or anywhere there are travel restrictions. We’re not able to make appointments for dogs to meet their family before going home, but we can register interest to arrange appointments when restrictions ease.

We’re currently experiencing an unprecedented amount of interest, with some dogs getting several hundred applications. Please bear with us, we’re doing everything we can to find our dogs their forever homes.

If you're looking for a dog with bags of character, Rufus is the guy. He has unfortunately spent a long time In kennels, so is looking for a family who are prepared to give him the time he needs to settle into a home environment. It doesnt take long for his cheeky personaility to shine through and he is sure to bring out plenty of smiles.

Type of home needed

Rufus is 7 years old and can live with adults only but no other pets. He will need extra support in the home, relating to his destructive behaviour when left and management around his resources, which our training team would be more than happy to discuss with you. Rufus is looking for a family who can spend most of the day with him and go on long walks together and he will repay them with all of his affection.

More about me

Rufus needs time to get to know his new family before he can go home. Due to current lockdown restrictions we can't offer meetings at the rehoming centre at the moment but we can start the process remotely with Zoom. If you are interested in applying to adopt Rufus, click on the 'come and meet me button'. Applications will close when I have found a suitable match.

How rehoming works

Thank you for your interest in Rufus, who is based at Loughborough. Please note this is not a reservation on this dog. If you think you could be a good match give us a call on the number below

Our rehoming process is a bit different at the moment! We’re now matching dogs with their new families virtually and delivering dogs to their new homes, with social distancing measures in place to help keep staff and adopters safe. For dogs who need more time to get to know their new family, you can come and meet them at our rehoming centres by appointment. More info about how our new rehoming process works below.

When you rehome a dog, we’ll give you your welcome bag, which includes a new collar and lead, and our dog care handbook with microchip and insurance details. Plus, to help your new addition settle in we’ll give you a 2kg bag of Wainwright’s dry dog food, courtesy of the Pets at Home VIP Club, unless they have been fed on a different food for dietary or veterinary reasons.
