Billy is a gentle lad but he's finding all the hustle and bustle of the centre a little stressful. He loves to get out for walks with his pals but he does prefer it when it's a little quieter. He walk beautifully on his lead as long as you distract him from the squirrels! Billy does enjoy the chase still and will leg off after his toys with joy, but doesn't know what to do with them when they land!

Type of home needed

Billy gets along with other dogs, especially other Greyhounds and larger breeds. He is an ex-racer and is muzzled onsite which is something he's used to and comfortable with. We always advise that care should be taken around cats, wildlife and smaller dogs with ex-racers as their prey drive can still be high. As Billy has spent most of his life in a kennel environment it's likely that he may not be house trained. Some patience may be needed on his adopters' part but they usually get the hang of it very quickly. Billy can live with kids aged 10 and up.

Thank you for your interest in rehoming a dog from our Merseyside Rehoming Centre in Liverpool.

The first step to rehoming from us is to complete our online application form. We’ll review your application and if we think you could be a good match for the dog, we’ll give you a call to chat in more detail.

When reviewing applications, we're looking at how closely your lifestyle matches the needs of the dog. If we have lots of strong matches, then we'll start with the family that applied first.

We may arrange a virtual home check to find out more about you, your lifestyle, and the home you can offer. We may also make an appointment for you to come and meet a dog at the centre.

We aim to respond to all rehoming applications within five working days. If you have not heard from us within five working days, unfortunately you have been unsuccessful this time.
