Aspen may not be the biggest Akita we've had at Merseyside, but he's probably the strongest! He's a lovely boy who isn't used to the outside world and will need to be introduced to things slowly. He's very tytpical of the breed, aloof and independent, and would do well with someone with Akita experience. He isn't familiar with toys and games so would love someone to show him how much more fun life can be.
Type of home needed
Aspen has been living with many other dogs in a previous home, but we'd recommend he be the only pet for now, as he has a lot to get used to. He does get along with other dogs but can be a little intense, and given his strength, meetings with pals should be calm and not allowed to get OTT. It's likely that Aspen isn't house trained, and he is not used to being left alone for long periods. He will need a family who are all over the age of 16.
During these uncertain times, whilst we have had to unfortunately close our
rehoming centres to the public, we’d like to reassure you that our wonderful
staff will continue to provide the best possible care for our dogs. We are now
able to start the search for new homes for a small number of our awesome dogs.
This will really help us to support even more dogs who are most at risk of
being put to sleep as a result of this crisis. We have been overwhelmed by
your offers of support, and we wouldn’t be able to do any of this without
your help. We’d like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to
those individuals, who are doing everything they can to make sure our dogs
get fed, walked, looked after and, as soon as we are able, finding them
their forever home. We appreciate you thinking of us at what is a difficult
time for all. If you would like to make a donation to support whilst we continue
looking after the dogs in our care you can do so here...
