Rehoming by appointment

Our rehoming centres are open by appointment only. We're still rehoming, but we're doing things a little differently.

Jimmy is a very handsome 4 year old Border Collie who loves his walks and likes to sniff and explore everything. We're ideally looking for a home in a low traffic area for Jim, as he has always been worried by passing vehicles and will drop low to the ground and become stressed. He just adores his treats and takes them so nice and politely from your hands, ever the gentleman! He has had some wonderful training already done with him and knows sit, down, stay and wait, all with hand signals too!

Type of home needed

Jimmy would thrive with an adult family who understand the Collie mind and it's very complex workings! Jim is a smart boy and will need lots of mental stimulation as well as physical exercise. He needs to be the only dog in the home and doesn't particularly enjoy their company. Dogs at a distance he has no problem with, but he does not enjoy them wanting to get to know him and won't appreciate any off lead advances being made towards him. Jimmy is also not a fan of a brush and comb and resents being groomed, but he is learning to tolerate a little at a time. We recommend that whilst Jimmy is settling into his new home, a hands off approach is used with him whilst he gets used to you. He is a very friendly boy once he knows he can trust you and loves to be made a fuss of, he just needs a family that has patience and understanding.

More about me

Jim will need to be met at the centre a few times before he goes home. He is receiving help and training with his fear of traffic and grooming whilst with us and our training team will happily support you in carrying this on once he has left us for his new home.

We do everything we can to provide essential care for thousands of stray and abandoned dogs who need us, now more than ever. If you'd like to help us during these challenging times, please make a donation. Your support means so much to us all, thank you.

Thank you for your interest in rehoming a dog from our Merseyside Rehoming Centre in Liverpool.

The first step to rehoming from us is to complete our online application form. We’ll review your application and if we think you could be a good match for the dog, we’ll give you a call to chat in more detail.

When reviewing applications, we're looking at how closely your lifestyle matches the needs of the dog. If we have lots of strong matches, then we'll start with the family that applied first.

We may arrange a virtual home check to find out more about you, your lifestyle, and the home you can offer. We may also make an appointment for you to come and meet a dog at the centre.

Start your online application now.

We aim to respond to all rehoming applications within five working days. If you have not heard from us within five working days, unfortunately you have been unsuccessful this time.
