Covid-19 update April 2021: Our rehoming centres are currently closed to the public for general browsing. We’re still rehoming virtually and we’re here to help if you can no longer care for your dog. Please don’t visit, or travel to our centres unless you have already been matched with a dog, or are leaving donations at one of our contact-free drop off points.

Our rehoming centres are currently closed to the public for general browsing.

We kindly ask that you don’t visit, or travel to, our centres. We’re still rehoming, with a virtual matching system and safety measures in place. If you’re matched with a dog, you’ll be invited an appointment at the centre to meet them, and if all goes well, make plans to take them home.

Barney is a lively 5 year old boy who is bursting with energy and is raring to go. He's incredibly smart and loves training, so we're hoping to find a family with an interest in carrying this on. When he's not out and about, Barney is happy to lounge across the back of his sofa in a very cat like fashion. He's an agility star too, and will often leap on the equipment and show off his skills! When Barney's in the mood, he can be a real snuggler, and likes to be close by you, juts watching the world go by.

Type of home needed

Barney needs a special family who are willing to work with him, and allow him time to settle without pushing him. It's essential that Barney lives in a quiet, child and pet free environment, preferably with few visitors, and has his own garden. He is under a training program at the centre that will need to be kept up in the home, and he will need multiple meets here before he goes home. Full support will be given by our Training and Behaviour Team, throughout all stages of Barney's adoption, and his adopters must be willing to work closely with the team. Although Barney will walk with dogs he's had a proper introduction to, he will need to be the only dog in the home. He is a super boy who just needs someone to commit to him, and make slow introductions to new people and places.

More about me

Barney needs time to get to know his new family before he goes home. As we can't offer meetings at the rehoming centre at the moment, he'll stay safe with us until restrictions are lifted. If you are interested in applying to adopt Barney, click on the "Come And Meet Me" button - we can start the process, but you'll need to wait for lockdown to end before you can meet him.

In these unprecedented circumstances, we're doing everything we can to continue our vital work caring for thousands of stray and abandoned dogs. If you'd like to help, please make a donation. Your support means so much, now more than ever.
