Spencer is happiest when he is playing fetch. He has a lot of energy that he likes to put into action through walks and ball play. He is happy to travel in the boot of a car to get to quiet, rural walks away from fast-moving traffic. Spencer can walk with calm dogs, he prefers smaller dogs, however, he lacks confidence and likes his own space. He is a bright boy who enjoys learning new tricks with people he trusts. Spencer does like a fuss from people he knows, but is worried by overhandling. Adopters will need to be patient and understanding and have a 'hands off' approach until Spencer is ready for affection.
Type of home needed
Spencer is looking for an active adult only home with a limited amount of visitors. He would like a home where he can enjoy fetch to his hearts content. He will need a nice secure garden and access to an off-lead field would be beneficial. He is looking to be the only dog in the home, he is not a fan of horses but is happy to walk near sheep (on his lead of course!). Spencer is worried of unknown people and will need a quiet, but active, lifestyle. Time left alone will need to be built up very gradually once he is settled into his new home. Adopters will need to live locally so Spencer can come and visit a few times, and build a bond before adoption.
More about me
I am not currently available for rehoming as I would like to meet my new family a few times before I go home, which is not possible at the moment due to current restrictions. My Canine Carers will let you know as soon as this changes, so keep an eye on my profile
During these uncertain times, whilst we have had to unfortunately close our
rehoming centres to the public, we’d like to reassure you that our wonderful
staff will continue to provide the best possible care for our dogs. We are now
able to start the search for new homes for a small number of our awesome dogs.
This will really help us to support even more dogs who are most at risk of
being put to sleep as a result of this crisis. We have been overwhelmed by
your offers of support, and we wouldn’t be able to do any of this without
your help. We’d like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to
those individuals, who are doing everything they can to make sure our dogs
get fed, walked, looked after and, as soon as we are able, finding them
their forever home. We appreciate you thinking of us at what is a difficult
time for all. If you would like to make a donation to support whilst we continue
looking after the dogs in our care you can do so here...
