We’ve set up new processes which include social distancing measures to help keep staff, visitors and adopters safe.

We’re now matching dogs with their new homes virtually and delivering dogs contact-free. For dogs who need more time to get to know their new family, you can now meet them at our rehoming centres by appointment and this now applies to all of our rehoming centres in England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales.

About Taggart

Centre:
Breed:
Age:
2 to 5 Years
Sex:
Male

Likes

Taggart has spent a lot of his youth in kennels. He can be shy and sensitive, but he can also be a whirl wind of enery and fun. Taggart loves other dogs & this is when he can really relax. If living with another dog however it must be young(ish) and physcially robust. He has some great bonds with his handlers and would love a family to call his own. He does find cars, roads and busy areas overwhelming.

Type of home needed

Taggart needs an adult only home who are home the majority of the day to help him settle in to a home environment and learn how to manage his emotions. Owners need to be confident around large, physical dogs. He needs a patient owner who is willing to work with the centre behaviour team to enable Taggart to really blossom. Taggart will need long significant ongoing training and continued behavioural support in his new home.

More about me

IMPORTANT: Please detail any previous dog ownership and training expereince on your application form. With a focus on your ability and willingness to engage in further training. Failure to do so will mean we cannot consider your application. Please also be aware that Taggart will need to meet new owners multiple times before going home, during which time the centre behaviour team will work closely with adopters to help provide him with a smooth transition in to the home.

During these uncertain times, whilst we have had to unfortunately close our rehoming centres to the public, we’d like to reassure you that our wonderful staff will continue to provide the best possible care for our dogs. We are now able to start the search for new homes for a small number of our awesome dogs. This will really help us to support even more dogs who are most at risk of being put to sleep as a result of this crisis. We have been overwhelmed by your offers of support, and we wouldn’t be able to do any of this without your help. We’d like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to those individuals, who are doing everything they can to make sure our dogs get fed, walked, looked after and, as soon as we are able, finding them their forever home. We appreciate you thinking of us at what is a difficult time for all. If you would like to make a donation to support whilst we continue looking after the dogs in our care you can do so here...

How rehoming works

Thank you for your interest in Taggart, who is based at Harefield (West London). Please note this is not a reservation on this dog. If you think you could be a good match give us a call on the number below

Our rehoming process is a bit different at the moment! We’re now matching dogs with their new families virtually and delivering dogs to their new homes, with social distancing measures in place to help keep staff and adopters safe. For dogs who need more time to get to know their new family, you can come and meet them at our rehoming centres by appointment. We can’t register interest for dogs who aren’t available for rehoming. More info about how our new rehoming process works below.
