Covid-19 update: our rehoming centres aren’t open for public browsing, but we’re still rehoming and taking in dogs, with measures in place to keep staff and adopters safe. Find out more about how national Covid-19 restrictions are affecting our rehoming procedures and other activity.

Our rehoming centres aren’t open for public browsing but we’re still rehoming and taking in dogs, with new processes in place to keep staff, visitors and adopters safe.

For dogs we know will thrive straight away in their new home, we’re matching them with their new homes virtually and delivering them contact-free. Current restrictions mean we can only facilitate adoptions local to our centres and not across Countries or anywhere there are travel restrictions. We’re not able to make appointments for dogs to meet their family before going home, but we can register interest to arrange appointments when restrictions ease.

We’re currently experiencing an unprecedented amount of interest, with some dogs getting several hundred applications. Please bear with us, we’re doing everything we can to find our dogs their forever homes.

About Jellybean

5 to 7 Years

Jellybean, like her namesake, is so sweet! She is looking for a special home to reach her full potential. She is deaf and will need a committed owner who can work with our Training and Behaviour Team, for this reason we are looking for someone who has experience with rescue dogs and in particular Staffordshire Bull Terriers. She only came into our care due to a change in her owners circumstances and we are confident that with the right home environment and an understanding owner, she will make a fantastic addition to her next home.

Type of home needed

Jellybean is looking for a home where she can be the main focus so being the only pet is important. She would also need to live with children over the age of 16 years. A quieter home environment would be best to help her settle initially as she can get overwhelmed quite easily. Part of her ongoing training will be based around calm behaviours. Once she knows you, she is very affectionate and loves to sprawl across your lap whenever possible. She could be left alone for up to 6 hours once settled and was housetrained in her last home.

More about me

Jellybean can be worried around dogs and some traffic, being deaf she cannot hear them approaching, so it would benefit her to walk in quieter, less built up areas. She must be kept on lead when out in public to keep her safe as she has no recall. Having direct access to her own private garden with 5.5ft fence is a must to give her some space to enjoy off lead time. She will make a great companion and her owner will have a huge reward at the end of their project, coming home to a happy Jellybean every night. Applications for Jellybean will close when we have found a suitable home. Due to current travel restrictions we are looking for a home within 30 minutes of the centre.

In these unprecedented circumstances, we're doing everything we can to continue our vital work caring for thousands of stray and abandoned dogs. If you'd like to help, please make a donation. Your support means so much, now more than ever.

How rehoming works

Thank you for your interest in Jellybean, who is based at Glasgow. Please note this is not a reservation on this dog. If you think you could be a good match give us a call on the number below

Our rehoming process is a bit different at the moment! We’re now matching dogs with their new families virtually and delivering dogs to their new homes, with social distancing measures in place to help keep staff and adopters safe. For dogs who need more time to get to know their new family, you can come and meet them at our rehoming centres by appointment. More info about how our new rehoming process works below.

When you rehome a dog, we’ll give you your welcome bag, which includes a new collar and lead, and our dog care handbook with microchip and insurance details. Plus, to help your new addition settle in we’ll give you a 2kg bag of Wainwright’s dry dog food, courtesy of the Pets at Home VIP Club, unless they have been fed on a different food for dietary or veterinary reasons.
