Ernest is a handsome boy. He walks like a dream on a lead and enjoys spending time with his loved ones. Ernest takes a while to trust new people and is generally an independent dog but he does enjoy attention once he has a bond with you. He needs a patient and committed owner who will give him time to adjust.
Type of home needed
Ernest is looking for a nice quiet home where he can settle in at his own pace. He does need to be the only pet in his new home but he will walk nicely with other dogs. He can be wary of new people, particularly men, and will need to meet prospective owners a few times to build a relationship before going home. Ernest needs a adult only home with people over the age of 16 years old as he needs space when he has treats.
More about me
Ernest can be left for part of the day and loves to snuggle up on a comfy duvet. He will need to be muzzled and kept on a lead in public due to his breed having a high prey drive. A secure garden with a 6ft fence is a must so he has somewhere safe and secure to play. He will enjoy quiet places in the home to have some time to himself if possible. I am currently not available for rehoming as I would like to meet my family a few times before I go home, which is not possible due to current restrictions. My Canine Carers will let you know as soon as this changes, so keep an eye on my profile.
During these uncertain times, whilst we have had to unfortunately close our
rehoming centres to the public, we’d like to reassure you that our wonderful
staff will continue to provide the best possible care for our dogs. We are now
able to start the search for new homes for a small number of our awesome dogs.
This will really help us to support even more dogs who are most at risk of
being put to sleep as a result of this crisis. We have been overwhelmed by
your offers of support, and we wouldn’t be able to do any of this without
your help. We’d like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to
those individuals, who are doing everything they can to make sure our dogs
get fed, walked, looked after and, as soon as we are able, finding them
their forever home. We appreciate you thinking of us at what is a difficult
time for all. If you would like to make a donation to support whilst we continue
looking after the dogs in our care you can do so here...
