To apply to rehome Belle, please click on the 'Rehoming me starts here' button below to start your online application. Applications will close when a suitable match has been found, at which point Belle will be removed from the website. Belle is a sweet, bouncy girl who can be quite shy around new people when first meeting them. Over time, Belle's confidence has flourished and she has made some firm friendships with the humans who she spends lots of time with. Belle enjoys a gentle fuss (especially a scratch on the neck), going out for walks and most of all, zoomies around our paddocks. This beautiful girl is guaranteed to become a terrific companion once she has settled into home life and realised that living with a loving family is the best thing in the world!
Type of home needed
Belle has spent some time in a home, although the most part of her life has been spent either on the racetrack or in kennels; It might take her a little bit of time to fully get to grips with living in a home, but she should acclimatise well when provided with a patient and nurturing environment. Belle is looking for a calm and quiet household where she will not have to endure too much hustle and bustle, and she would love her own secure garden to play in once her confidence has grown. Within the home, Belle will need her own little safe space to retreat to if she feels the need for some quiet time, and she would like there to be minimal visitors in the early days. Being left on her own should be no problem for Belle if provided with a big comfy spot to rest and a long-lasting chew to keep her busy. Belle may be able to share her home with a similar sized dog who could act as a role model when it comes to overcoming new challenges in the home. Due to her nervousness, Belle is ideally seeking an adult-only environment, although this could be reviewed by our Rehoming Team on a case-by-case basis.
More about me
Due to her history, Belle's home will need to be free of cats and other small furry pets who may be a little too tempting to resist. At present, travelling in the car is a bit of a challenge for our gorgeous Greyhound, and she would far rather not have to go for journeys very often until some positive confidence-building work can be implemented in the home. If a few introductions can be arranged, having a dog sitter or walker should be fine for Belle and her family would benefit from some amount of breed knowledge or experience. Belle can be worried by lots of busy places and noises, and would prefer a home located away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, roads and other loud spaces. Despite spending the majority of her life in kennels, Belle is exceptionally housetrained and always does her best to stay clean and tidy.
