Covid-19 update: our rehoming centres aren’t open for public browsing, but we’re still rehoming and taking in dogs, with measures in place to keep staff and adopters safe. Find out more about how national Covid-19 restrictions are affecting our rehoming procedures and other activity.

Our rehoming centres aren’t open for public browsing but we’re still rehoming and taking in dogs, with new processes in place to keep staff, visitors and adopters safe.

For dogs we know will thrive straight away in their new home, we’re matching them with their new homes virtually and delivering them contact-free. Current restrictions mean we can only facilitate adoptions local to our centres and not across Countries or anywhere there are travel restrictions. We’re not able to make appointments for dogs to meet their family before going home, but we can register interest to arrange appointments when restrictions ease.

We’re currently experiencing an unprecedented amount of interest, with some dogs getting several hundred applications. Please bear with us, we’re doing everything we can to find our dogs their forever homes.

About King

2 to 5 Years

To apply to rehome King, please click on the 'Come and Meet Me' button below. Applications will close when a suitable match has been found. Food, fuss and fun are three of King's favourite things. He is a super sweet boy with heaps of character and lots of excitement to offer his new family. King has made a brilliant start to his basic obedience and has spent some time in a home before arriving with us- He has also been enjoying his home comforts with one of our super foster families recently. He is a real live-wire who is always on the look-out for his next fun adventure; King's family will be kept on their toes with this fabulous bundle of mischief!

Type of home needed

King's family would benefit from some level of breed knowledge, although this will not be absolutely critical. His rather over-the-top greeting style can be a little too much for some people, but with some ongoing training and plenty of positive interactions he will soon some to realise that life doesn't have to be taken at quite so fast of a pace! King would like an active family who can take him for lovely long walks and provide him with his own secure garden to explore and burn-off excess energy. He can currently be left for a couple of hours at a time which could be built-up gradually once he settles into his new home. King is a little unsure of car travel, so further work in this area would be beneficial once he finds his feet. He will be looking for a low dog populated area to live.

More about me

King is looking for an adult-only home, with visitors being of the same minimum age. He will also need to be the only pet in his home, which will suit him well as he is rather keen on being the center of attention! Some on-going training will be required in terms of King's insecurities around other dogs; This will need to be implemented under the guidance of our expert training team and continued in his new home. Due to the current covid-19 restrictions, King is not able to go to his forever home just yet as he will require several meets with his new family. We can however continue to take new interest via the "come and meet me" button below. When restrictions ease, you will be able to discuss your rehoming application for this resident in more detail with a member of our team. Thank-you for your understanding and continued support!

In these unprecedented circumstances, we're doing everything we can to continue our vital work caring for thousands of stray and abandoned dogs. If you'd like to help, please make a donation. Your support means so much, now more than ever.

Our rehoming process is a bit different at the moment! We’re now matching dogs with their new families virtually and delivering dogs to their new homes, with social distancing measures in place to help keep staff and adopters safe. For dogs who need more time to get to know their new family, you can come and meet them at our rehoming centres by appointment. More info about how our new rehoming process works below.

When you rehome a dog, we’ll give you your welcome bag, which includes a new collar and lead, and our dog care handbook with microchip and insurance details. Plus, to help your new addition settle in we’ll give you a 2kg bag of Wainwright’s dry dog food, courtesy of the Pets at Home VIP Club, unless they have been fed on a different food for dietary or veterinary reasons.
