Covid-19 update: Our rehoming centres aren’t open for public browsing but we’re still rehoming and taking in dogs, with social distancing measures in place to keep our staff and adopters safe.

Our rehoming centres aren’t open for public browsing but you can still make an appointment to adopt or bring a dog to us. We’ve set up new processes to keep staff, visitors and adopters safe, including matching dogs with their new homes virtually and delivering dogs contact-free.

Local restrictions may affect our rehoming procedures, so please check the rules for your area: we’re not able to facilitate appointments or adoptions across different tiers, or anywhere there are travel restrictions.

We’re currently experiencing an unprecedented amount of interest, with some dogs getting several hundred applications. Please bear with us, we’re doing everything we can to find our dogs their forever homes.

About Stanley

2 to 5 Years

To apply to rehome Stanley, please click the 'Come and meet me' button below. Applications will close when a suitable match has been found. Stanley is always seeking a new adventure (and mischief!). He oozes character and really does aim to please people as much as he possibly can. Sometimes his enthusiasms get the better of him and he forgets how best to express himself- His family will need to fully appreciate that he will not be the easiest of family members to live with, but he will definitely bring plenty of excitement!

Type of home needed

Stanley's family will massively benefit from a good understanding of bull breeds and their typical behaviours. A lot of time, patience and understanding will be required from Stanley's family whilst he settles, and the willingness and ability to continue his compulsory training is an absolute must. Beneath Stanley's bull-in-a-china-shop exterior is a rather anxious young boy who struggles to cope with several aspects of everyday life. Multiple visits to our Centre will be needed before Stanley heads out for his home visit with our training team.

More about me

Stanley is seeking an adult-only home where he can be the only pet. He will need minimal visitors to his home, and must be offered a very stable, steady lifestyle where he will have to experience very little change as he finds this rather overwhelming. Further socialisation will be needed with other dogs once Stanley is settled, and he may eventually be able to share his home with a canine companion (although this will take a while).

In these unprecedented circumstances, we're doing everything we can to continue our vital work caring for thousands of stray and abandoned dogs. If you'd like to help, please make a donation. Your support means so much, now more than ever.

How rehoming works

Thank you for your interest in Stanley, who is based at Evesham (Worcestershire). Please note this is not a reservation on this dog. If you think you could be a good match give us a call on the number below

Our rehoming process is a bit different at the moment! We’re now matching dogs with their new families virtually and delivering dogs to their new homes, with social distancing measures in place to help keep staff and adopters safe. For dogs who need more time to get to know their new family, you can come and meet them at our rehoming centres by appointment. More info about how our new rehoming process works below.

When you rehome a dog, we’ll give you your welcome bag, which includes a new collar and lead, and our dog care handbook with microchip and insurance details. Plus, to help your new addition settle in we’ll give you a 2kg bag of Wainwright’s dry dog food, courtesy of the Pets at Home VIP Club, unless they have been fed on a different food for dietary or veterinary reasons.
