To apply to rehome Alfie please click on the 'Come and Meet Me' button below. Applications will close when a suitable match has been found. Alfie is an older boy who is seeking a cozy retirement home (although he doesn't always seem to realise his age!). He is a friendly boy who LOVES his toys and has already mastered much of his tricks and talents. Due to his arthiritis, he will not be requiring a great deal of physical exercise in his new home, but he does enjoy going for a walk or having a quick session of fetch.
Type of home needed
Alfie can be left on his own for a few hours at a time if given a cozy bed to call his own and snooze in. He is housetrained and simply wants a loving family to keep him company through his twilight years. Alfie has been friendly when meeting new people here at the Centre, but he is not very keen on car travel; we would therefore prefer Alfie to be rehomed no further than an hour's drive from the Rehoming Centre in order to minimise his stress when venturing home.
More about me
Alfie is seeking an adult-only home with no visiting children as he finds them rather overwhelming. He is looking to be the only dog in his home, however he has made friends with some of our other residents here and may enjoy the presence of other dogs on his walks. Alfie's home will need to be away from livestock as he does have a history of chasing other animals. He will not be able to share his home with cats, other small furry animals or birds as he finds these too tempting to resist!
During these uncertain times, whilst we have had to unfortunately close our
rehoming centres to the public, we’d like to reassure you that our wonderful
staff will continue to provide the best possible care for our dogs. We are now
able to start the search for new homes for a small number of our awesome dogs.
This will really help us to support even more dogs who are most at risk of
being put to sleep as a result of this crisis. We have been overwhelmed by
your offers of support, and we wouldn’t be able to do any of this without
your help. We’d like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to
those individuals, who are doing everything they can to make sure our dogs
get fed, walked, looked after and, as soon as we are able, finding them
their forever home. We appreciate you thinking of us at what is a difficult
time for all. If you would like to make a donation to support whilst we continue
looking after the dogs in our care you can do so here...
