We’ve set up new processes which include social distancing measures to help keep staff, visitors and adopters safe.

We’re now matching dogs with their new homes virtually and delivering dogs contact-free. For dogs who need more time to get to know their new family, you can now meet them at our rehoming centres by appointment and this now applies to all of our rehoming centres in England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales.

I'm looking for a new home...

About Taz

Centre:
Breed:
Age:
2 to 5 Years
Sex:
Male

Likes

Taz has been undergoing training at the centre for some time now and has made huge progress. He adores the carers he spends the most time with and loves nothing more than fusses and spending time playing with his toys. He is a clever boy who loves to learn and happily demonstrates. As he adores company he will need his owners to be around most of the day to build it up gradually.

Type of home needed

Taz is looking for a quiet home in a relatively rural area due to him being incredibly sensitive to noises. He needs an adult only home with minimal visitors and no children visiting. He is a very active boy so will love long walks in the countryside. Taz has been learning to enjoy his walks without worrying about other dogs as much so new owners will need to continue this training. He needs to be the only pet in his new home.

More about me

Taz will be required to be muzzled and kept on lead at all times for his walks. As it will be a big transition for him going into a home, new owners will need to come to the centre multiple times to meet Taz and will need to live local to the centre to make it a gradual process. If you are interested in finding out about this boy more, please email [email protected]

During these uncertain times, whilst we have had to unfortunately close our rehoming centres to the public, we’d like to reassure you that our wonderful staff will continue to provide the best possible care for our dogs. We are now able to start the search for new homes for a small number of our awesome dogs. This will really help us to support even more dogs who are most at risk of being put to sleep as a result of this crisis. We have been overwhelmed by your offers of support, and we wouldn’t be able to do any of this without your help. We’d like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to those individuals, who are doing everything they can to make sure our dogs get fed, walked, looked after and, as soon as we are able, finding them their forever home. We appreciate you thinking of us at what is a difficult time for all. If you would like to make a donation to support whilst we continue looking after the dogs in our care you can do so here...

How rehoming works

Thank you for your interest in Taz, who is based at Darlington. Please note this is not a reservation on this dog. If you think you could be a good match give us a call on the number below

Our rehoming process is a bit different at the moment! We’re now matching dogs with their new families virtually and delivering dogs to their new homes, with social distancing measures in place to help keep staff and adopters safe. For dogs who need more time to get to know their new family, you can come and meet them at our rehoming centres by appointment. We can’t register interest for dogs who aren’t available for rehoming. More info about how our new rehoming process works below.

When you rehome a dog, we’ll give you your welcome bag, which includes a new collar and lead, and our dog care handbook with microchip and insurance details. Plus, to help your new addition settle in we’ll give you a 2kg bag of Wainwright’s dry dog food, courtesy of the Pets at Home VIP Club, unless they have been fed on a different food for dietary or veterinary reasons.
