Our rehoming centres are not open for public browsing but you can still make an appointment to adopt or bring a dog to us. We’ve set up new processes which include social distancing measures to help keep staff, visitors and adopters safe. We’re now matching dogs with their new homes virtually and delivering dogs contact-free. For dogs who need more time to get to know their new family, you can now meet them at our rehoming centres by appointment.

We’re currently experiencing an unprecedented amount of interest, with some dogs getting several hundred applications. Please bear with us, we’re doing everything we can to find our dogs their forever homes.

Teddy is a beautiful boy who enjoys a fuss from his carers, but can take a little while to get to know new people. Due to this he will need a quiet home with minimal visitors and no visiting children. He does require an owner very experienced in the care of GSDs and will require management around food in the home as he enjoys his grub a little too much.

Type of home needed

Teddy needs an adult only home with a quiet environment and a very secure well fenced in garden, with no walkways around. For Shepherd owners who understand the breed well he will be a stunning dog to own. Teddy must be muzzled and on lead at all times when out in public, new owners need to consider this. Due to his handsome good looks we know people will want to dash over to him on walks but he can be uncomfortable with people approaching him so should be walked in quiet areas to help with this. He will need to be the only pet in the home as he isn't keen on sharing resources.

More about me

Prospective owners will need to speak to the training staff to discuss Teddy before visiting the centre as he will need a specific layout in the home to aid his management around resources. He will also require multiple meets at the centre before going home.To apply to rehome me please click on the 'Come and Meet [email protected] button below. Applications will close when I have found a suitable match.

During these uncertain times, whilst we have had to unfortunately close our rehoming centres to the public, we’d like to reassure you that our wonderful staff will continue to provide the best possible care for our dogs. We are now able to start the search for new homes for a small number of our awesome dogs. This will really help us to support even more dogs who are most at risk of being put to sleep as a result of this crisis. We have been overwhelmed by your offers of support, and we wouldn’t be able to do any of this without your help. We’d like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to those individuals, who are doing everything they can to make sure our dogs get fed, walked, looked after and, as soon as we are able, finding them their forever home. We appreciate you thinking of us at what is a difficult time for all. If you would like to make a donation to support whilst we continue looking after the dogs in our care you can do so here...

How rehoming works

Thank you for your interest in Teddy, who is based at Darlington. Please note this is not a reservation on this dog. If you think you could be a good match give us a call on the number below

Our rehoming process is a bit different at the moment! We’re now matching dogs with their new families virtually and delivering dogs to their new homes, with social distancing measures in place to help keep staff and adopters safe. For dogs who need more time to get to know their new family, you can come and meet them at our rehoming centres by appointment. We can’t register interest for dogs who aren’t available for rehoming. More info about how our new rehoming process works below.

When you rehome a dog, we’ll give you your welcome bag, which includes a new collar and lead, and our dog care handbook with microchip and insurance details. Plus, to help your new addition settle in we’ll give you a 2kg bag of Wainwright’s dry dog food, courtesy of the Pets at Home VIP Club, unless they have been fed on a different food for dietary or veterinary reasons.
