Dougal is an energetic 2 year old Catalan Sheepdog who's looking for a special forever home. He's a very sweet and affectionate boy once he's comfortable with you but he prefers a hands-off approach until you're familiar. He's a big foodie who loves his teddies and his walks. He's an active and energetic young lad who loves to explore but he is a large dog and can be rather strong on lead.
Type of home needed
Dougal will need an active family who are committed to helping him adjust to life in a home and continuing his training under the guidance of our behaviour team. He takes a little while to warm up to people, so will need multiple meets at the rehoming centre before going to his new home. He is very worried by other dogs so he will need to live in a low dog populated area and have access to quiet walking areas and his own private and secure garden so he can run and play off lead. Dougal can live with teenagers 16 years and over and will need to be the only pet in the home. He will need home visits with our behaviour team so we can only accept applications within a 45 minute radius of the rehoming centre.
More about me
If Dougal sounds like your perfect match please get in contact to express an interest. Please note if you rent your property you must be able to provide written permission from your landlord to keep a dog to complete the rehome process. Due to expected high levels of interest you will only hear back from us if we are able to proceed with your application. We will conduct a rehoming interview with successful applicants and home visit via video. Access to emails and video technology will be essential for this process.
During these uncertain times, whilst we have had to unfortunately close our
rehoming centres to the public, we’d like to reassure you that our wonderful
staff will continue to provide the best possible care for our dogs. We are now
able to start the search for new homes for a small number of our awesome dogs.
This will really help us to support even more dogs who are most at risk of
being put to sleep as a result of this crisis. We have been overwhelmed by
your offers of support, and we wouldn’t be able to do any of this without
your help. We’d like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to
those individuals, who are doing everything they can to make sure our dogs
get fed, walked, looked after and, as soon as we are able, finding them
their forever home. We appreciate you thinking of us at what is a difficult
time for all. If you would like to make a donation to support whilst we continue
looking after the dogs in our care you can do so here...
