Covid-19 update: our rehoming centres aren’t open for public browsing, but we’re still rehoming and taking in dogs, with measures in place to keep staff and adopters safe. Find out more about how national Covid-19 restrictions are affecting our rehoming procedures and other activity.

Our rehoming centres aren’t open for public browsing but we’re still rehoming and taking in dogs, with new processes in place to keep staff, visitors and adopters safe.

For dogs we know will thrive straight away in their new home, we’re matching them with their new homes virtually and delivering them contact-free. Current restrictions mean we can only facilitate adoptions local to our centres and not across Countries or anywhere there are travel restrictions. We’re not able to make appointments for dogs to meet their family before going home, but we can register interest to arrange appointments when restrictions ease.

We’re currently experiencing an unprecedented amount of interest, with some dogs getting several hundred applications. Please bear with us, we’re doing everything we can to find our dogs their forever homes.

Boris absolutely loves human company and getting cuddled up on the sofa under blankets. He is starting to play with toys now that he is relaxing in his foster home and his favourite are enrichment toys which involve food! To apply to rehome me please click on the 'Come and Meet Me' button below. Applications will close when I have found a suitable match.

Type of home needed

Boris is looking for an adult only home which is calm and quiet, he needs a home where people will have patience and understand that it will take him time to grow in confidence. His foster carers are already seeing Boris come out of his shell, he is now starting to enjoy walks on the beach and through long grass where he can have a good sniff. At night time Boris prefers to sleep in the bedroom with you.

More about me

travels well in the car and is looking for a home where someone will be around for the majority of the day as he can be anxious when left alone. His housetraining is coming along well but he will still need a little bit of help with this. He could possibly share his home with a female doggy companion.Boris is 5 years old. DUE TO COVID RESTRICTIONS I AM CURRENTLY NOT AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION.

In these unprecedented circumstances, we're doing everything we can to continue our vital work caring for thousands of stray and abandoned dogs. If you'd like to help, please make a donation. Your support means so much, now more than ever.

How rehoming works

Thank you for your interest in Boris, who is based at Ballymena (Northern Ireland). Please note this is not a reservation on this dog. If you think you could be a good match give us a call on the number below

Our rehoming process is a bit different at the moment! We’re now matching dogs with their new families virtually and delivering dogs to their new homes, with social distancing measures in place to help keep staff and adopters safe. For dogs who need more time to get to know their new family, you can come and meet them at our rehoming centres by appointment. More info about how our new rehoming process works below.

When you rehome a dog, we’ll give you your welcome bag, which includes a new collar and lead, and our dog care handbook with microchip and insurance details. Plus, to help your new addition settle in we’ll give you a 2kg bag of Wainwright’s dry dog food, courtesy of the Pets at Home VIP Club, unless they have been fed on a different food for dietary or veterinary reasons.
