Our rehoming centres are not open for public browsing but you can still make an appointment to adopt or bring a dog to us. We’ve set up new processes which include social distancing measures to help keep staff, visitors and adopters safe. We’re now matching dogs with their new homes virtually and delivering dogs contact-free. For dogs who need more time to get to know their new family, you can now meet them at our rehoming centres by appointment.

We’re currently experiencing an unprecedented amount of interest, with some dogs getting several hundred applications. Please bear with us, we’re doing everything we can to find our dogs their forever homes.

Spencer is a 2 year old Mastiff Cross, he is not at the centre but is living in a foster home. To apply to rehome me please click on the 'Come and Meet Me' button below. Applications will close when I have found a suitable match. He is a super friendly boy who adores being the centre of attention. He loves being around people and will do his best to please you! Spencer loves to learn, he especially likes knowing when he has got it right! This happy boy adores cuddles and even though he wont fit on your knee he will certainly try! his nick name is the big sook!

Type of home needed

Spencer is looking for a strong owner who has owned dogs before and in and adult only home. He does not like other dogs outside and does wear a muzzle which he is happy and comfortable with. Spencer likes to walk in quiet areas where he can relax and enjoy himself. He is house-trained and can be left for short periods of time. Spencer will need his own secure garden, with no other pets next door, where he can spend some time off his lead playing with his toys or relaxing with his owners.

More about me

Spencer is super playful and can often be seen carrying his favourite squeaky monkey. He is very affectionate, truly loving and always tries to make you happy! Spencer is now living in a foster home, please contact the centre on 01506 873459 to find out more about him. I would like to meet my new family a few times before I go home to build a relationship.

During these uncertain times, whilst we have had to unfortunately close our rehoming centres to the public, we’d like to reassure you that our wonderful staff will continue to provide the best possible care for our dogs. We are now able to start the search for new homes for a small number of our awesome dogs. This will really help us to support even more dogs who are most at risk of being put to sleep as a result of this crisis. We have been overwhelmed by your offers of support, and we wouldn’t be able to do any of this without your help. We’d like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to those individuals, who are doing everything they can to make sure our dogs get fed, walked, looked after and, as soon as we are able, finding them their forever home. We appreciate you thinking of us at what is a difficult time for all. If you would like to make a donation to support whilst we continue looking after the dogs in our care you can do so here...

How rehoming works

Thank you for your interest in Spencer, who is based at West Calder (Edinburgh). Please note this is not a reservation on this dog. If you think you could be a good match give us a call on the number below

Our rehoming process is a bit different at the moment! We’re now matching dogs with their new families virtually and delivering dogs to their new homes, with social distancing measures in place to help keep staff and adopters safe. For dogs who need more time to get to know their new family, you can come and meet them at our rehoming centres by appointment. We can’t register interest for dogs who aren’t available for rehoming. More info about how our new rehoming process works below.

When you rehome a dog, we’ll give you your welcome bag, which includes a new collar and lead, and our dog care handbook with microchip and insurance details. Plus, to help your new addition settle in we’ll give you a 2kg bag of Wainwright’s dry dog food, courtesy of the Pets at Home VIP Club, unless they have been fed on a different food for dietary or veterinary reasons.
