Covid-19 update: our rehoming centres aren’t open for public browsing, but we’re still rehoming and taking in dogs, with measures in place to keep staff and adopters safe. Find out more about how national Covid-19 restrictions are affecting our rehoming procedures and other activity.

Our rehoming centres aren’t open for public browsing but we’re still rehoming and taking in dogs, with new processes in place to keep staff, visitors and adopters safe.

For dogs we know will thrive straight away in their new home, we’re matching them with their new homes virtually and delivering them contact-free. Current restrictions mean we can only facilitate adoptions local to our centres and not across Countries or anywhere there are travel restrictions. We’re not able to make appointments for dogs to meet their family before going home, but we can register interest to arrange appointments when restrictions ease.

We’re currently experiencing an unprecedented amount of interest, with some dogs getting several hundred applications. Please bear with us, we’re doing everything we can to find our dogs their forever homes.

We are still taking interest in Fidget; however, he does require multiple visits from potential adopters and due to current lockdown restrictions we are unable to undertake these visits at this time. To place and interest, please click on the 'Come and Meet Me' button. Fidget is a four year old Terrier Cross. He has a zest for life and bounds of energy, so would suit a home who has had Terriers before and can keep up with his energy levels. Fidget is improving with his doggy socialising and will need to continue with this once in a home. Fidget will need to be the only pet in the home as he loves all the attention! Fidget will need his own private fully secure garden and a room to build up settling away from his new family.

Type of home needed

Fidget is looking for an adult only home where he can be given time and space to settle into a new environment. He will need owners who have dealt with a dog with behaviour problems previously and will use positive reward based training methods. He has had lots of stuff taken away from him in the past and shows guarding behaviour around high value items and spaces. Fidget needs understanding owners who know this comes from a place of anxiety and are willing to work with him. He's a bright boy who will need lots of physical and mental stimulation. He travels well in the car and loves to explore new places. Fidget's home will need to be within 45 minutes drive from the centre.

In these unprecedented circumstances, we're doing everything we can to continue our vital work caring for thousands of stray and abandoned dogs. If you'd like to help, please make a donation. Your support means so much, now more than ever.

How rehoming works

Thank you for your interest in Fidget, who is based at Bridgend (Wales). Please note this is not a reservation on this dog. If you think you could be a good match give us a call on the number below

Our rehoming process is a bit different at the moment! We’re now matching dogs with their new families virtually and delivering dogs to their new homes, with social distancing measures in place to help keep staff and adopters safe. For dogs who need more time to get to know their new family, you can come and meet them at our rehoming centres by appointment. More info about how our new rehoming process works below.

When you rehome a dog, we’ll give you your welcome bag, which includes a new collar and lead, and our dog care handbook with microchip and insurance details. Plus, to help your new addition settle in we’ll give you a 2kg bag of Wainwright’s dry dog food, courtesy of the Pets at Home VIP Club, unless they have been fed on a different food for dietary or veterinary reasons.
