Gary the 8 year Greyhound is searching for his special someone. He loves to snooze on his back, have short walks and have a constant flow of food and treats! He is a loveable lad who will guarantee to make you smile every day with his goofy smile and cheeky ways! He does enjoy his own space in the home but will wander over for a fuss and cuddle when he wants it. Gary is already housetrained and he also walks nicely on the lead. He will happily greet other dogs when out and about however, if he was to spot a cat or small animal he will suddenly go to chase, so adopters will need to be able to hold him on the lead.

Type of home needed

Gary is looking for a home with children aged 16 years and over. He would like adopters who can offer him a few short walks during the day as he does like to get out and have a nose around. Although he likes to greet dogs when out on walks, he would prefer to have his own space in the home so would like to be the only pet. Gary would like his own secure garden for some off-lead exercise and he would need adopters who are around most of the time to start with. Once he has settled down, his leaving hours could be built up to around 1-2 hours.

More about me

If Gary sounds like your perfect match, please get in contact to express an interest. Please note that if you rent your property, you must be able to provide written permission from your landlord to keep a dog to complete the rehome process. Due to expected high levels of interest you will only hear back from us if we are able to proceed with your application. We will conduct a rehoming interview with successful applicants and home visit via video. Access to emails and video technology will be essential for this process.

Thank you for your interest in rehoming a dog from our Canterbury Rehoming Centre in Kent.

The first step to rehoming from us is to complete our online application form. We’ll review your application and if we think you could be a good match for the dog, we’ll give you a call to chat in more detail.

When reviewing applications, we're looking at how closely your lifestyle matches the needs of the dog. If we have lots of strong matches, then we'll start with the family that applied first.

We may arrange a virtual home check to find out more about you, your lifestyle, and the home you can offer. We may also make an appointment for you to come and meet a dog at the centre.

Start your online application now.

We aim to respond to all rehoming applications within five working days. If you have not heard from us within five working days, unfortunately you have been unsuccessful this time.
