Our rehoming centres are currently closed to the public but you can still adopt some of our dogs: take a look at their profiles to see which ones. We can’t register interest for dogs who aren’t available for rehoming.

We’ve set up a new rehoming process which includes social distancing measures to help keep staff and adopters safe. We’re now matching dogs with their new homes virtually and delivering dogs contact-free. For dogs who need more time to get to know their new family, you can now meet them at our rehoming centres by appointment and this now applies to all of our rehoming centres in England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales.

Frankie is A great Dane Cross who is looking for an experienced home that have owned large breeds before. He is a big boy and will need someone able to manage him on walks as although he is generally good on lead, when he wants to get somewhere he has lots of stength to try! He is looking for an adult only home with people aged 18 years and over.

Type of home needed

Frankie does get on with other dogs but has has some incidents in the past so will need to be kept on lead when in public places. He could live with another dog if it was the right match and we would do multiple meets at the centre before going home. He could not live with small breed dogs or any cats due to being over the top at times. Frankie spent much of his puppy stages in kennels and needs a committed owner who will continue his training.

More about me

Frankie does have some medical needs that a family would need to be willing to take on but Dogs Trust would be happy to contribute towards the costs of this He can be left for a few hours with no problems although he may bark at people passing the window. He would like to meet his family multiple times before going home so that he can build a relationship. He will make a wonderful addition in the right home.Frankie is avaliable for meets at the centre by appiontment only.

During these uncertain times, whilst we have had to unfortunately close our rehoming centres to the public, we’d like to reassure you that our wonderful staff will continue to provide the best possible care for our dogs. We are now able to start the search for new homes for a small number of our awesome dogs. This will really help us to support even more dogs who are most at risk of being put to sleep as a result of this crisis. We have been overwhelmed by your offers of support, and we wouldn’t be able to do any of this without your help. We’d like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to those individuals, who are doing everything they can to make sure our dogs get fed, walked, looked after and, as soon as we are able, finding them their forever home. We appreciate you thinking of us at what is a difficult time for all. If you would like to make a donation to support whilst we continue looking after the dogs in our care you can do so here...

How rehoming works

Thank you for your interest in Frankie, who is based at Glasgow. Please note this is not a reservation on this dog.

We’ve set up a new rehoming process which includes social distancing measures to help keep staff and adopters safe. We’re now matching dogs with their new homes virtually and delivering dogs contact-free. For dogs who need more time to get to know their new family, you can now meet them at our rehoming centres by appointment. We can’t register interest for dogs who aren’t available for rehoming.

We will, of course, be doing everything to ensure the safety of our staff, and adopters when we offer this service. You can find out more about this below.
