Are you right for Otis?

Otis is an 8 year old Crossbreed - he came in as a Dobermann X Kelpie but whatever combination he is, he is delightful! He has previously lived with cats and dogs and could join a home with both again. Otis can sometimes be a little excitable when playing with other dogs so anyone interested in Otis should consider if their dog would like a playful friend. Otis is truly a gentle, friendly giant who could share his home with children of primary school age, as long as they aren't worried by his size. Otis enjoys exploring outside but does not necessarily need his own garden provided he has access to a safe area where he can burn off some energy off lead.

Is Otis right for you?

Otis came into our care needing some veterinary care and has since been diagnosed with hip dysplasia and age related Osteoarthritis which he is now on pain relief for and this will need to be ongoing. Options for ongoing support with this can be discussed if matched. Otis is currently living in a foster home where he is just being the perfect guest - he loves everyone and will go from person to person for a cuddle. Otis travels well in the car and his medical conditions do not hold him back as he loves going for walks. Otis has been left for a few hours in foster with no issue either. Otis can sometimes forget his size and when he pulls on lead he can be quite strong. He is currently learning to walk nicely but will need someone who is confident that they can hold him. Please note that you won’t be applying for a specific dog, but you can tell us what type of dog you’re looking for. You can also add up to four favourites to your application to give us an idea of the dogs you like, so we can consider you for similar dogs. Once you’ve submitted your application, we can’t change or update your favourites. Adding a dog to your application is not a reservation but a guide for us to find you a match.
