Handy tips for healthy, happy dogs
Easy DIY enrichment toys
Whether it's keeping your dog entertained for a short period, or a little activity to exercise the grey-matter of your four-legged friend; these easy to make enrichment toys will do the job.
In true Blue Peter fashion, Claire, Canine Carer Puppy Rearer at Dogs Trust Salisbury, has used items that can easily be found around the house. Although, we can guarantee you won't be needing any sticky-back-plastic...a little Blue Peter reference for those of a certain age.
- Clean towel
- Egg boxes
- Cardboard rolls
- Box of treats or dog food
With these five items, you can easily create four basic enrichment toys that take a matter of minutes to make. As you can see from Claire's video, each piece is straight forward and doesn't require anything other than your own two hands to construct.
We've found this to be a great way of getting everyone involved in creating something for the four-legged member of their family. Every member, both young and old, can get together to have their own 'in-house' Blue Peter session and create some enrichment toys for their furry friends.
