Adopt don’t shop this Black Friday

Rehoming appeal for black dog at Dogs Trust Manchester

Staff at Dogs Trust Manchester are hoping Black Friday (24 November) will inspire local dog lovers to swap shopping for adopting and give a black dog a new home.

Riley, a one-year-old Greyhound, has got his paws crossed that this Black Friday will prove lucky for him.

Riley loves food and playing with his toys and like most Greyhounds, after an interesting walk and a quick runaround, he’s happy to chill out and snooze away the day on a comfy bed.

Dawn Bishop, Dogs Trust Manchester Manager, said:

“As people traditionally hit the shops on Black Friday, we’re using it as the perfect opportunity to celebrate a wonderful black dog in our care and encourage people to adopt not shop.

“Riley is looking for a quiet home and would love a secure garden where he can run and play. He doesn’t like to be left alone too much so would love his new owners to be around most of the time especially at first, and he doesn’t particularly like travelling at the moment so lots of lovely walks close to his new home would suit him perfectly.”

The team say Riley is an affectionate boy but lacks a little confidence so his new owners will need to help him find his paws in his new home. He can potentially live with a cat but would like to be the only dog in the home.

Dawn adds:

“Riley really deserves a stroke of luck and we thought if any day would be lucky for him, then surely it’s Black Friday. If you think you could give Riley a happy home, please get in touch and he could be settled on your sofa in time for Christmas.”

Riley can live with children aged over 16.
