Fun for four and two-legged friends!

It’s a case of all paws on deck at Dogs Trust Leeds as the team get ready for their annual Summer Fun Day for dog-lovers and their four legged friends this Sunday (5 August).

The annual Fun Day, held at the York Road rehoming centre, raises thousands of pounds each year for the rehoming centre’s homeless hounds.

There will be fun and games for all the family and four-legged friends including a Fun Dog Show, Have-A-Go Agility, Haystack Hurdles, a fun fair and activities for children, a raffle and auction, a food court and stalls full of delights for four and two-legged friends. Dogs Trust Dog School Leeds will also be on hand to give free advice to dog owners who would like to know more about training their dog.

The Donkey Sanctuary will also be joining in the fun once again along with Knaresbrough Exotic Pet Rescue.

Organiser Sarah Hey, Supporter Relations Officer at Dogs Trust Leeds, says:

“The Summer Fun Day is our biggest fundraising event of the year and last year we raised an incredible £26,000 which is fantastic.

“On average it costs £40 a day to care for each dog we look after and at any one time we can have around 100 dogs so we are really grateful for the support we get at the Fun Day, but all year round too.”

The Summer Fun Day will be held at Dogs Trust Leeds at Woodlands Farm on York Road on Sunday 5 August from 11am. Entry fee is £3 per family.

In the event of extreme hot weather, the decision may be made to cancel the Fun Day. Please check the Dogs Trust website and social media before you begin your journey for any updates.
