Dogs Trust Leeds is calling on dog lovers to help make their Summer Fun Day ‘paw-fect’ by lending a much needed helping hand.
The annual fundraising extravaganza attracts thousands of visitors and their four-legged friends to the York Road rehoming centre site every year, raising thousands to help the charity look after the dogs in its care. But this year they are in desperate need of volunteers to help out at the family fun day.
Sarah Hey, Supporter Relations Officer for Dogs Trust Leeds and organiser of the event, said:
“To help us raise as much money as possible so we can look after the hundreds of gorgeous dogs that find themselves homeless every year, we really need volunteers to run the stalls. We also need people to help out with our fun activities for dogs, including our Haystack Hurdle and Have a Go Agility as it’s so busy we need people to be on hand to help visitors find their way around!
“It’s a fantastic day out and any dog-lover will enjoy it and get lots of loving licks as a thank you for giving us their time!”
The Fun Day will take place at Dogs Trust Leeds on Sunday 5 August from 11am. If you would like to find out more about volunteering on the day, please call 0113 2814945 or e-mail [email protected].
