About Petersfield
Petersfield lies in an area of outstanding natural beauty within the South Downs National Park. This lovely market town is easily accessible via the A3 and A272 and sits on the main London Waterloo to Portsmouth railway line.
Petersfield was part of an area known as Mapledurham, which is mentioned in the Domesday book. Bronze Age and Iron Age burial mounds can still be found on the heath which stretches for 69 acres around Heath pond; here you can hire a boat during the summer months and enjoy picturesque walks all year round.
A statue of King William III can be found in the town square which is surrounded by a variety of national and independent shops and eateries.
The Queen Elizabeth Country Park is a paradise for families and dogs!
