Rehoming Success at Shoreham

These past couple months – despite all odds, have been an incredibly successful start to the summer.

With our new appointment-based, rehoming process, we have been able to match up dogs with their new families who have been making regular visits to our Centre.

While the lockdown has meant a new (and sometimes tricky) way of working for us – it has also had its benefits. One of these being extra time to spend with our dogs to support them with training that will help them when it comes to finding a home.

A forever home for Benny

Coincidentally or not, we are proud to announce that many of our longer-term residents have finally found love at last – including our much-loved, Sponsor Dog, Benny.

Benny was first considered to be a Sponsor Dog due to the anticipated length of time it would take him to find the specific home environment that he required – as well as for his additional training needs. He lived at Shoreham for 3 years and 11 days before he finally left for his Forever Home.

The other dogs we’d like to give a special mention to include: Bobby, who found a family to call his own after 1 Year, 10 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days, Boycee – who went to live with his Special Someone(s) after 1 Year, 9 Months and 2 Weeks at our centre, Harley – who said his goodbyes after 1 Year, 4 Months, 4 Weeks and 1 Day, Polly – who went to her home after 1 Year and 1 Month at our centre, Oliver – who packed up his bags for his new home after 9 Months and 24 Days, Bagel – who left the centre to live with his family after 9 months, 1 Week and 4 Days and Joshua – who found a place to call ‘forever’ after 7 months and 5 days in our care.

Thank you to all the wonderful people who decided to adopt rather than shop and showed our dogs that there really is such a thing as a ‘Special Someone’.

We’d also like to say a HUGE thank you to all of our supporters for sticking with us, choosing us and being patient while we learn a new way of working. Finding ‘Forever Homes’ for our four-legged-friends is what it’s all about and it’s what gives us the motivation to keep on pushing through.
